# Salesforce as an MCP

> Let your AI agents use Salesforce in real time through the Nekt MCP Gateway.

Salesforce is a leading customer relationship management (CRM) platform. Connecting it as an MCP lets your AI agent query records, perform searches, and read object schemas across your Salesforce organization in real time.

| | Available |
| :- | :- |
| **Nekt Express** | Yes |
| **GCP** | Yes |
| **AWS** | Yes |

## Adding Salesforce as an MCP

Before you start, make sure the [MCP Server](/mcp-server/setup) is set up. See [MCPs](/mcps/overview) for how MCPs work.

1. Go to **Activate → [MCPs](https://app.nekt.ai/mcps)**, click **New MCP** and choose **Salesforce**.
2. **Name your MCP** and describe what it is used for. The agent reads the description to choose between MCPs of the same provider.
3. **Setup access**. Click the sign-in button and authorize with a Salesforce account that can see the data you want the agent to use. Actions run with that account's permissions. Configure the following fields:
   * **Sign in with Salesforce**: Click the button to authenticate.
   * **Salesforce URL** (Required): Your org's My Domain URL, e.g. [https://yourcompany.my.salesforce.com](https://yourcompany.my.salesforce.com) (sandbox: [https://yourcompany--sandboxname.sandbox.my.salesforce.com](https://yourcompany--sandboxname.sandbox.my.salesforce.com)). Find it in Setup > My Domain.
4. **Select tools**. Pick the tools your agents can use. See [Available tools](#available-tools) below.
5. Click **Save**. On Growth and Custom plans, choose who can use it; see [Access levels](/mcps/overview#access-levels).

## Example prompts

* "Search for the Acme account and summarize its current details."
* "List all open opportunities with a value over \$50,000."
* "What custom fields are configured on our Lead object?"
* "Get the latest 10 closed-won deals from this month."

Choose which of these tools your agents can use in **Select tools**.

### Write tools

This connector has no write tools.

## Troubleshooting

If the MCP shows that it needs to reconnect because access expired or was revoked, go to the MCP's page in Nekt and sign in again. If the agent cannot find a specific object or record, ensure the connected Salesforce account has the necessary permissions to read that object.
